The Card Account Updater is a powerful feature that automatically updates expiration dates and other information for tokenized payments before the cards expire. Card expiration is one of the top reasons recurring payments fail.

Operation

The Card Account Updater runs in the background. When a stored (tokenized) card is nearing expiration, or when the network detects an update to card details, your token is refreshed so future payments continue without interruption.

This feature relies on secure, standardized updates from major card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Etc.). If a card is reported lost or stolen and deactivated, updates are not applied for security reasons.

💡Please Note: The Card Account Updater only applies to tokenized cards. It requires no manual steps after tokenization is enabled.

Additional Information

We collaborate with major card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Etc.) to get real-time updates on card changes so the moment card information is changed or is about to expire, it gets updated automatically. The only exception to this is when a card is reported lost or stolen and is canceled.
